The easiest resolution to make is to do “something” everyday. And of course, it is also the hardest resolution to keep.
But like many hard things, it has value. Maybe the key is to keep it small. Simple. Easy. Being consistent with one or two small things is better than not being consistent with big things.
Most of us don’t haul out our DSLR gear everyday to create images but we usually do have camera phones so a photo-a-day is logistically easy. Then it becomes a matter of being moved to create an image and deciding what to do with it. Do you simply store it or make it public?
Few photographers want to post bland, uninspired photos and even fewer viewers want to see them, so maybe don’t make that an issue. Don’t worry about posting something everyday but still create everyday. If you can find a way to be accountable, that is even better.
Maybe fill a calendar, put your photos on a private network or find a friend to annoy. If you think you need produce and if someone will notice if you don’t produce then so much the better.
All in all it isn’t about the photos as much as it is about the act, the doing. Go for it. It will make you better.
