What matters more, content of presentation?
In the early days of photography presentation was pretty rough. Photos were blurry, over or under exposed and often fairly passive with people just standing. Not much action.
But it was state of the art.
Later came small format film and the pioneers of street photography and photojournalism. Content was king. Get the shot as well as you can in the moment using whatever tools you have at hand. The skill was in getting the shot.
Content still matters but is it still king? Or tools are better and we react to quality. Current styles show the impact of better cameras and an enormous amount of post production techniques being used to enhance what comes out of the box.
Maybe content still is king but the queen has become and equal partner.
