Receiving an award can be very satisfying, especially if it comes from a respected source and the other candidates were equally worthy.
It’s not quite the same when everyone wins a trophy.
An award for work you care about doing is confirmation that you are on the right track. The work you are doing is significant.
Sometimes you may not feel that you deserve it. That you are just doing what you do and you are not really that impressed with yourself.
That’s when an award can have greater significance. You may feel that you are just doing your work and you know there is room for improvement and growth.
But it shows you are serving and your service is being received.
