I am woefully new to podcasts and blogs but I’m quickly learning what a rich source of information and ideas they present. It’s most a matter of reaching for those that offer new insights and not just diving into my own echo chamber.
The podcast “The Candid Frame” worth hearing with its interviews of prominent photographers. Listening to a recent interview with Stella Johnson offered a wonderful little snippet we can all relate to, “Look behind you.”
Our eyes are in the front of our heads and we are evolved and designed to focus our attention on what is in front of us. That is how we move and how we think, forward.
But of course we live in a 3 dimensional world and life is occurring 360 degrees around us in all orientations. Stella talks about remembering to look behind herself when shooting. There is more within your potential field of view than what is in front of you.
